2021 Award Nominee Magnus Wallin

“The material I’ve used in this work in blood, mixed with acrylic mass. Whenever I’ve been working on a monochromatic piece, I’ve taken it further by thinking how I could break the surface without making a composition or a picture. For example, I’ve added tiny pieces of human anatomy to them.”

Magnus Wallin, artist

Magnus Wallin’s art constitutes an exploration of the human body. It is not just the relationship between bodies and norms that fascinates Magnus Wallin, but how many permutations of these bodies there are, and how they constitute different modes of understanding.
